ALR CHAPTER 108 MINUTES

Roll Call of Officers
o Present: Director, Assistant Director, Road Captain, Sgt-at-Arms, Webmaster, Treasurer, Secretary, Quartermaster/Membership, Chaplain
o We have a quorum.
Minutes of previous meeting:
Motion made to approve the minutes of the December meeting: seconded; Motion passed.
Introduction of Guests: Wayne and Vicky Nelson from ALR Post 140. Wayne was in the Navy on subs, in Viet Nam.
Officer’s reports:
Director: Joe Dugan
Please be sure to attend the Post meetings if you are a Legion member, and Auxiliary if you are an Aux member. We are Legionnaires first and need to also be active at the Post level.
Post 140 has handed in their charter. I hope that we will welcome any of their former ALR members to our chapter with open arms.
On February 22nd in the annual Iwo Jima Flag Raising Ceremony and Parade in Sacaton at the Gila River Indian Community. I have brought flyers if you are interested.

Assistant Director: John Moffitt
At the wreath pick up John was the only Post 108 member there, it would have been good to have more, but there was a well-attended PGR mission going on at the same time.
Tues. Jan. 21 is a fund raiser at Mod Pizza all day, just come and order, no work required. Flyers are required and were sent out by Post Commander.
Feb. 2, Sunday is the Veteran free lunch at Essence Kitchen in Chino Valley in the Safeway Plaza. Lunch is served at 11:00 and again at 12:00. You do need reservations.
Feb 8 is the quarterly District 8 meeting at Post 90 in Black Canyon City. Lunch is at 1200. The meeting starts at 1300.
There is a PGR mission Jan 30 for Greg Jones of ALR 78 who died Christmas Eve in a motorcycle accident. Go directly to PNC to form the flag line for the arrival of the escort because the procession will be crowded.
Treasurer: Bob Meadowcroft
Financial report: checking account balance $2573.89 includes Dec. dues of $160.00 and $63.00 for patches. Expenses $120 (annual) for ALR part of church room rent.
Motion to accept the Treasurer report, subject to audit. Motion was approved.
Road Captain: Bob Meadowcroft
There are 34 members. In 2024 we went on 12 rides. 24 riders went on at least one ride. We averaged 6 riders per ride. New restaurants rode to include: Babe’s BBQ in Camp Verde, G’s Burgers in Cornville, Gilligan’s Pizza in Yarnell, Beni’s Pizza in in Black Canyon City. Previous years but not this year we went to Crusty’s Pizza in Camp Verde, Diner on Main in Bagdad (reported as now closed), Bing’s Burger in Cottonwood, Early Bird Diner in Pine and Black Bear Dinner in Cottonwood.

There are 977 followers and 921 new likes. 847 views in Dec, and 7 new followers.
Secretary: Sandy Meadowcroft No Report.
Quartermaster/Membership: Suzanne Covell
We have 27 members renewed, 7 have not renewed, 2 will not be renewed. March is the latest you can renew before being dropped.
Sgt at Arms: Mike Covell
Kathy Keller had back surgery, we wish her well.
Chaplain: Juanita No report.
Motion made to accept the Officers’ reports; seconded and passed.
