Announcements/Upcoming Events
• Food drives for the PV Food Bank. Bring canned food to our meetings and the church will take it over to the food bank.
• Commander Taylor thanked those that helped with the cooking and serving. And the many post 108 members in attendance.
• Next Flag Days: 11 Nov, Veterans Day
• Oct 24/25 ALR fund raiser at Ace Hardware.
• Auxiliary Octoberfest Party- 25 Oct at VFW 10227. Tickets are $20 each.
• Oct 28 Post fund raiser at Texas Roadhouse, need volunteers for the table.
• District 8 Meeting, - 1 Nov at Post 25 in Cottonwood. Let’s bring home the trophy again.
• Veterans Day Parade – 11 Nov in Prescott, application submitted.
• Post voted to move the November meeting to the first Tuesday, 11/1 due to normally scheduled would be 11 Nov.
• Auxiliary, Trish Aljets let everyone know about the Panera Bread fund raiser on 27th Oct.
Post Meeting:
A. Roll Call/Quorum is present, Adjutant. 25 Members and 2 guests were in attendance.
● Minutes of September meeting – Emailed. Bill Hudson made a motion to accept the minutes as published. Second, John Moffitt - passed.
● Finance Report – Emailed, Finance Officer. Motion made by Bill Hudson to approve the report as presented subject to audit, seconded by Joe Dugan, passed.

• Motion was made by John Moffitt to accept Deb Nowakoski, Roger Rodriquez Jr., and Jim Turner as members of Post 108. Second by Joe Dugan, passed.

D. Committee reports.
● Membership – 1st Vice, Total 2025 paid members was 111. 2026 goal 98 members. 87 renewed to date for 88.78% of our goal. Great job.
● Fund Raising Report –
• Horseshoe Tournament – 11 Oct
• Texas Roadhouse – 28 Oct, from 1600 to 2000 hrs and will be able to set up table out front. Need Flyer.
● Flag Project – Schmidt, 1 more in process, we have over 70 now. Order forms are available at meetings.
● ALR Report – ALR Director, 2 upcoming PGR missions at PNC in the next couple of weeks. ALR D8 VA BBQ, attendance was down, served 155 meals, less than last year. Thanks to all the 108 members that assisted in putting this on.
● Post Web Site – No Report
● 2025 Oratorical – Anderson. Information received on 2026 program and topics. Dates for District and Area not yet established. Reach out to last year's contestant and continue searching for additional participants at AA&EC.
E. 2025 Boy’s State – Anderson. Preliminary info received, dates 31 May-June. To be held again at UofA in Tucson. Costs are going up... Posts pays $425; the student rate is now $300, up $75 from last year. JROTC at Bradshaw in interested in sending students to Boys State also.
F. Sick Call, Relief and Employment.

• Sick: Doug Keller is looking at having heart surgery.
G. Post Service Officer’s report. Training at Post 90 in Black Canyon City on 10 Sep.
H. District 8 Meeting Report.
● Next meeting – Post 25 Cottonwood on 1 Nov.
I. Department Convention and Conference Report.
● Fall Conference – Tucson, Reid Park Doubletree. Post 36 is the host post for the next 2 years. 7 through 9 Nov.
J. Unfinished Business.
• CPR Hours – Add to Hours Logbook or email to Ron Arrigoni
● PV Adopt-A-Highway (on-hold)
● New projects ideas and members willing to head up/or participate.
K. New business (and correspondence)
● Vote to purchase pavers at the Freedom Rock Plaza will be held at the next meeting.
● Request from Traditions-Academy.org in Cordes Lakes about getting a flagpole. This would be a good opportunity for the post to also teach flag etiquette.
L. The Good of the American Legion?
● Greg Staley and Joe Kronewitter have changed out the flags at the American Legion Park, have 3 service flags that are still in good shape, the Post will take those in case any need to be replaced on Hwy 69.
● Peggy Schmidt brought up the idea of a ride share program for the post. This would be used to give members that are unable to dive at night to attend our meeting. Gary Taylor will put out an email asking for people that would like to use this and drivers.
