Announcements/Upcoming Events
• Food drives for the PV Food Bank. Bring canned food to our meetings and the church will take it over to the food bank.
• ALA is dark until Sep meeting/potluck, 9 Sep.
• 9 Aug - District 8 Meeting, Post 78 Humboldt. Lunch at 1200, General meeting
at 1300.
• Next Flag Days - 1 Sep, Labor Day; 11 Sep, Patriot Day; 19 Sep, POW/MIA Day.
District 8 Picnic - 4 Oct, at Goldwater Lake, 108 is Host Post, Hamburger, Hot Dogs and Bun, cooking, Tickets $7.00. Let Commander Taylor know how many tickets you need. Give your money and how many tickets you will need to our Adjutant Ron Arrigoni.
• Potential conflict with our meeting on 11 NOV and Veterans Day on the same day.
• Auxiliary, Trish Aljets Let us know that the Auxiliary will be putting on a
dinner at the Prescott Valley VFW on 25 Oct. They will be having a fund raiser at Panara Bread soon also.
A. Minutes of June meeting was emailed to all members. Bob Dorfman made a motion to waive the reading and accept as written. Bill Hudson seconded, passed.B. Finance Report - Emailed, Finance Officer. Checkbook balance - $ 6567.55. Savings - 3535.96. Ready cash - $126.08. Brokerage account - $ 24,587.51. Mike Covell made a motion to approve as written, subject to audit. John Moffitt seconded. Passed.

E. Committee reports.
• Membership -1 Vice, 2025 goal 90 members. Currently 96 members have

been renewed along with transfers and new members for 108.9% of goal. Total 2025 paid members with transfers: 112
• Fund Raising Report - 2nd Vice
• Mod Pizza - 17 Jul, all day and will need to present the flyer for donations.
• Culvers - 18 Aug 1700 - 2000, no flyer. Will need at least 4 volunteers to
work during that time.
• Working on setting up other Restaurant fund raising dinners.
• Flag Project - Received 3 more request for tags, we are up to 68 tags now.
• ALR Report - ALR Director. Will have a fund-raising event at ACE Hardware on 24 and 25 Oct. Will need riders to work in 4-hour shifts. Have a PGR flag line this Friday at ABC in Chino Valley. 2 more flag lines at PNC on Friday, 18 Jul.
• Post Web Site - Keller absent, no report.
• 2025 Oratorical - Anderson. No Report.
• 2025 Boy’s State - Anderson. No Report.F. Post Resource Officer’s report. - Vacant, training at post 90 is in the early stages of planning. Gary Salvatore has expressed an interest in this position and will attend the training.

H. District 8 Meeting Report
• Next meeting - Post 78, Humboldt, Let’s have a good turnout to take it back.
I. Unfinished Business.
• CPR Hours - Add to Hours Logbook or email to Ron Arrigoni.
• Flag Retirement Ceremony - Foothills Riding Stables was able to purchase the tank and get it outfitted within one month. They plan to start having 2 Flag retirements each year.
J. Department Convention and Conference Report:
• New Commander: Gary Vaughn Post 145
• New Vice Commander, Area C: Ron Arrigoni Post 108
• Fall Conference: will be held at the Reid Park Double Tree in Tucson. Post 36 is the sponsor for the next 2 years. Save the date, 7-9 November.
• Emergency Response Trailers: there are 3, one for each area. Area C trailer is located at Cottonwood, Post 25. These can also be used for special events anywhere in the Area.
* Each post has been asked to recruit Licensed Ham Radio Operators. We need name, contact information, and Class of FCC license.
K. New business (and correspondence)
• Potential Problem with the shed, someone stopped by with directions to clean out the sheds on the property and broke into ours. Commander Taylor is trying to contact the property owner to see what is going on and if we need to move our stuff.
L. The Good of the American Legion?
• New project ideas/members willing to head up and/or participate in.• Gary Taylor received a letter from Trish Aljets about the Whipple Street gift
Shop at the VA hospital. They are in need of financial support, they are
planning for 120 people at the Dom, and 70 in the CLC. This was tabled until
the next meeting.
• Celebration of life for Rudy Parez will be held following interment at PNC on Friday, 18 Jul. If you would like to attend, please let Greg Staley know ASAP.
• Healing Fields is coming up soon and the need to go thru the 3000 flags to check for damage and replace or repair as needed. Let Vice Commander Peggy Schmidt for more information or on the web healingfieldpv.com
• Bob Meadowcroft mentioned that he and Sandy work the Prescott Rodeo Parade and noticed that we had 3 posts and 1 auxiliary member in the parade. Mike Siavelis, Peggy Schmidt, Ron and Cindy Arrigoni.
