Announcements/Upcoming Events
· Guest Speaker – Erin O’Hara, PV Freedom rock project. The rock will be placed adjacent to the Veteran’s Plaza at the Prescott Valley Civic Center. After it is painted and the shelter is placed, the rock will be placed. Red Bricks are available for Veterans only for $100 each. Wheat colored brick/paver for business sponsors only for $250 each. · Food drives for the PV Food Bank. Bring canned food to our meetings and the church will take it over to the food bank.
· ALA is dark until Sep meeting/potluck, 9 Sep.
· 16 Aug – District 8 Meeting, Post 78 Humboldt. Lunch at 1200, General meeting at 1300
· Next Flag Days – 1 Sep, Labor Day; 11 Sep, Patriot Day; 19 Sep, POW/MIA Day.
· Healing Fields Prescott Valley, needs volunteers to assist with prepping, putting up and taking down flags. See Peg Schmidt for more information.
· District 8 picnic on 4 Oct. This year’s location is Goldwater Lake, 108 is the host post and will provide burgers, hot dogs, buns, and cooks. Tickets are $7 each, see Gary Taylor for tickets.
· Auxiliary, Trish Aljets Oktoberfest Party at VFW 10227 on 25 Oct. Tickets available at the September meeting.
· The November post meeting is scheduled for Veteran’s Day. It was suggested that we move the meeting to 4 November, approved by all members in attendance.
A. Minutes of July meeting were emailed to all members. John Moffitt made a motion to waive the reading and accept as written. Bob Dorfman seconded, passed.
B. Finance Report – Emailed, Finance Officer. Checkbook balance - $ 6662.55. Savings – 3535.96. Ready cash - $126.08. Brokerage account - $ 25,244.40. John Moffitt made a motion to approve as written, subject to audit. Bob Singer seconded. Passed.
C. Introduction of guests, prospective and new members: SGT at Arms
● Guests: Gary Murphy, Post 140. He would like to transfer to 108.

D. Certificates and Recognition,
● Vernon Huebner, Thanked Post 108 for paying his 2026 dues, Vernon is Koren War veteran and is no longer able to attend meetings. He was very surprised and really appreciated this.
● Anita Wulf said hi to one and all. Her and Med are doing good; house is coming along slowly. Anita had reverse shoulder surgery and is undergoing therapy now. No Pain no Gain
E. Committee reports.
● Membership – 1st Vice, 2025 paid membership: 112, 79 have renewed for 2026 so far for a 69.3% based on a goal of 2%, this increase could be subject to change.
● Fund Raising Report – 2nd Vice
• Mod Pizza – Will no longer be on the calendar, looking for something new that might give us a better return. Not well attended.
• Culvers – Pending. They are doing round ups for groups like ours. Peggy will be working with their new Manger to set something up.
• Red Robin (ALR) 16 Sep, all day and will need to have a flyer.
• Texas Roadhouse, 28 Oct 1600 to 2000, will need to have a flyer.
● Flag Project – Received more request for tags.
● ALR Report – ALR Director. VA BBQ will 27 Sep cost is $5 per person. ACE Hardware fundraiser will be 24-25 Oct.
● Post Web Site – Keller absent, no report.
● 2025 Oratorical – Anderson. No Report.
● 2025 Boy’s State – Anderson. Will invite our Boys Staters to our September meeting.
F. Post Resource Officer’s report. – Vacant
G. Sick Call, Relief and Employment.
● Deceased: None
● Sick: Marvin MacKaben having more back surgery. Anita Wulf had shoulder surgery. Kathy Keller suffered a mini stroke, resting at home. Greg Flippen was in the hospital for pneumonia but is home resting now.
H. District 8 Meeting Report
● Next meeting – Post 78, Humboldt, Let’s have a good turnout to take it back.
I. Department Convention and Conference Report’
● 3 Emergency Response Trailers, 1 per area was purchased. Area C is at Post 25 in Cottonwood. And is available for any post in the Area. Looking for Licensed Ham Operators. Need name, class of FCC license and contact information.
● Fall Conference to be held at Doubletree Reid Park in Tucson. Post 36 is the host post for the next 2 years. Dates are 7th through 9thof November.
J. Unfinished Business.
● CPR Hours – Add to Hours Logbook or email to Ron Arrigoni.
● Potential Problem with shed Location has been resolved.
● New project ideas/members willing to head up and/or participate in.
K. New business (and correspondence)
● Post Harassment policy was sent out to all members. John Moffitt made a motion to approve written. Mike Covell second, passed.
L. The Good of the AmericanLegion?
● Discussion on fund raising for the Horseshoe tournament. Peggy Scmidt has divided up the list we have used into different areas for everyone to use. Please contact Peggy to get this list and help get raffle prizes.
