Announcements/Upcoming Events
• Food drives for the PV Food Bank. Bring canned food to our meetings and the church will take it over to the food bank.
• Next Flag Days: 11 Sep – Patriot Day. 19 Sep – POW/MIA day
• Healing Fields can use volunteers to assist with taking down flags on 13 Sep.
• District 8 Picnic – 4 Oct at Goldwater Lake. 108 is the host post, supplying and cooking Burger and Hot Dogs, providing Buns. Tickets are $7 each, tickets will be available at the picnic.
• Horseshoe Tournament – 11 Oct at CAHC Pits at the American Legion Park on Bob Dr in PV.
• Auxiliary Octoberfest Party- 25 Oct at VFW 10227. Tickets are $20 each, see Cindy Arrigoni for tickets.
• District 8 Meeting, - 1 Nov at Post 25 in Cottonwood.
• Veterans Day Parade – 11 Nov in Prescott, application submitted.
• Post voted to move the November meeting to the first Tuesday, 11/1 due to normally scheduled would be 11 Nov.
• Auxiliary, Trish Aljets Shared with us about their upcoming dinner at the VFW.
Post Meeting:
A. Roll Call/Quorum is present, Adjutant. 25 Members and 4 guests in attendance.
● Minutes of DEC meeting – Emailed. Doug Keller made a motion to accept the minutes as published. Second, Bill Hudson - passed.
● Finance Report – Emailed, Finance Officer. Motion made by Doug Keller to approve the report as presented subject to audit, seconded by Mike Covell, passed.
B. Introduction of guests, prospective and new members: SGT at Arms
● Guests: Anastasia McManamy, Air Force. Larry Stapp, Army. Deb Nowakowsik, Army. Lynn Powell, Air Force.
• Motion was made by John Moffitt to accept Gary Murphy as a member of Post 108. Second by Bob Singer, passed.
C. Certificates and Recognition
D. Committee reports.
● Membership – 1st Vice, Total a2025 paid members was 111. 2026 goal 98 members. 84 renewed to date for 85.7% of our goal. Great job.
● Fund Raising Report –
• Culver’s – was 2 Sep and was very successful.
• Red Robin – 16 Sep (ALR) This will be all day, will need a flyer
• Horseshoe Tournament – 11 Oct
• Texas Roadhouse – 28 Oct, from 1600 to 2000 hrs and will be able to set up table out front. Need Flyer
● Flag Project – Schmidt, have several in process. Order forms are available at meetings.
● ALR Report – ALR Director, No Report.
● Post Web Site – Keller, 185 visits for the year. 46 in the last 7 days.
● 2025 Oratorical – Anderson. No Report
E. 2025 Boy’s State – Anderson. The other 2 boys could not attend due to Football practice and will try and have them attend after Football season.
F. Sick Call, Relief and Employment.
● Post Everlasting:
• Sick: Vicky Nelson (Wayne) is undergoing cancer treatment.
G. Post Service Officer’s report. Training at Post 90 in Black Canyon City on 10 Sep.
H. District 8 Meeting Report.
● Next meeting – Post 25 Cottonwood on 1 Nov.
I. Department Convention and Conference Report.
● Fall Conference – Tucson, Reid Park Doubletree. Post 36 is the host post for the next 2 years. 7 through 9 Nov.
J. Unfinished Business.
• CPR Hours – Add to Hours Logbook or email to Ron Arrigoni
● PV Adopt-A-Highway (on-hold)
K. New business (and correspondence)
● Motion was made and tabled to purchase a brick for the Freedom Rock Plaza planned for Prescott Valley Civic Center. Wayne Brewer stated that there was planning meeting schedule on 10 Sep. Will report back next month.
